Opportunities to Serve
You are Needed:
Offering Counters and Financial Secretary
If you are looking for a way to help out at church with minimal time commitment, we are looking for people interested in joining the counting team. Counters are partnered with one other person to count the offerings once a month. This typically takes no more than one hour on a Sunday following the second service.
Counting must be done at the church and training will be given to all volunteers.
We are also looking to fill the role of Financial Secretary. The Financial Secretary is responsible for recording the weekly offerings into the church software so that giving statements can be generated regularly.
In addition, the Financial Secretary usually coordinates the counters and makes sure that counting supplies are in order. The recording of the weekly gifts can be done either at the church or from home if you are able to connect to the internet. If interested in either of these opportunities, please contact either Phil Lippert (847-651-4368) or Roz Beitzel (847-529-8054).
Operation Christmas Child
May items of the month.
Any items appropriate for ages 2 to 4 years old.
Stitch 'n Tie
We are in need of flat sheets for the backing of our quilts. So if you will be doing some “Spring Cleaning” soon, we would be glad to give them a “new home”. They can be any size, although queen & king work the best. You can drop them off in the Stitch ‘N Tie closet (just inside Luther Hall) or let Dee Sponholtz (847-223-7384) or Saline Leckman know about your donation.
Since this season began in the fall of 2015 we have have served nearly 1,000 homeless guests. As we close in on the end of the season we are in need of monetary donations in order to continue providing 3 meals a week to these guests.
Please consider making a donation to help this ministry continue to serve the homeless in Lake County. If you have any questions about this, please contact Karen Senase at email@example.com.
We Accept Electronic Donations!
Shepherd of the Lakes is pleased to offer a convenient new way to make a onetime offering or to schedule regular offerings. With our electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make a onetime contribution. We encourage you to set up a schedule of recurring contributions. It's convenient for you and provides much-needed consistency for our church. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes.
Even when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, our church will continue to receive your contributions on an uninterrupted basis.
