Shepherd of the Lakes is pleased to offer a convenient new way to make a onetime offering or to schedule regular offerings. With our electronic giving program, you can easily set up a recurring giving schedule or make a onetime contribution. We encourage you to set up a schedule of recurring contributions. It's convenient for you and provides much-needed consistency for our church. If you are currently giving on a weekly basis, you will no longer need to write out 52 checks a year or prepare 52 envelopes. Even when travel, illness or other circumstances prevent you from attending services, our church will continue to receive your contributions on an uninterrupted basis.

Three kinds of giving are mentioned in the Bible:

Offerings and Tithing

This giving might be called “business as usual.” Just like
we pay rent, buy groceries, pay utility bills, this giving is
a part of our day-in-and-day-out joyful response as a child
of God. Offerings help support local ministries and outreach.
Tithes can be thought of as an offering to a specific cause such
as ELCA World Hunger or the congregation’s building fund,
given above and beyond (and never in place of) regular
congregational offering.
1 Corinthians 16:2

Alms

Our compassionate, heartfelt response to the “least” of our
sisters and brothers. This is our most personal and spontaneous
kind of giving.
Luke 12:33

Time and Talent

God calls us to be generous in all areas of our lives. When we
ground our giving in a biblical context, our financial generosity
becomes an expression of our love for God, for our neighbor and for ourselves.

We give cheerfully because God has given us so much.
