Weekend Message Series
Say Yes To A Life of Love
This seven-week series will
explore the meaning of 1 Corinthians 13. When Jesus says to
love God, love self and love neighbor he
also challenges us to love as
God loves us. They will know we are Christians by our love.
Christian love is different than worldly love. Getting clear
on that will allow God’s love to shape us as we love others.
April 2-3
What’s Love Got To Do With It?
1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 13
A life without love is a life
that fails to make a difference that changes lives, but a
life lived as a conduit of God’s love will transform
lives, including your own!
April 9-10
Love is Patient
1 Corinthians 13:4a-5 and
James 1:19
Patience is something that
flows out of Christian love. Without patience we become
irritable, rude and anger often wins the day.
Finding a way through anger
and to actions of love is a challenge that is put before us
all. The example of Jesus and the gift of the Holy Spirit is
given to us to help us grow in patience.
April 16-17
Love is Kind
1 Corinthians 13:4c (Love is
kind.) and Luke 10:30-37
Love is an action. Kindness is
love in action. Christians are called to be kind in there
actions towards all people. When we are kind
we show the love of Christ to
others.
April 23-24
Love Does Not Envy
1 Corinthians 13: 4c (Love is
not jealous) and Matthew 20:1-16
Loving well begins with
understanding that we can rejoice in the blessings of other
people without being jealous or envious of
them. Loving well includes
being thankful for the blessings that we have been given
ourselves.
April 30 - May 1
Love is Humble
1 Corinthians 13:4c (Love is
not boastful or proud) and Philippians 2:1-8 (The Message)
Humility is not thinking less
of yourself. It’s thinking of others instead and acting in
their best interest, instead of your own. Love
always thinks of others and
raising them up before it thinks of self. Christians are to
be other-centered lovers.
