Welcome to Shepherd of the Lakes
Our mission is to invite all people to know Jesus, grow through the power of the Holy Spirit, and go forward to serve all God's children.
We invite all people to know Jesus by
sharing God’s love and telling people about His free gift of grace and forgiveness. Encouraging people to connect with God through lives of prayer, praise, thanksgiving, witness, and service.
Experiencing authentic, passionate worship as a community gathered around word and sacrament.
Grow deeper in faith and spiritual maturity through the power of the Holy Spirit by encouraging a personal understanding of the importance and power of the sacraments in our lives.
Encourage people to read God’s word, pray daily, and see life as the primary setting for the exercise of their Christian calling in the world.
Providing opportunities for faith formation for God’s children of all ages.
Go forward to serve all God’s children by
putting our faith into action through the giving of our time, talents, and resources to humbly serve those in need. Demonstrating God’s love and mercy even when it is outside of our comfort zone.
Welcoming and connecting with each other and the community to be a place where people find hope and restoration in Jesus.

Contemporary Worship Band - Open Jam Invitation
Have you ever thought it would be fun to play or sing with the Contemporary Worship Band, even if only for an afternoon? Bring whatever talent/gift you have (voice, instrument or even enthusiasm) to church on Saturday February 20th. We will be praising the Lord in music from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
If you would like to prepare before hand, the band will be ready to play the following popular Christian songs:
* Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone) by Chris Tomlin
* Your Grace is Enough by Matt Maher
* Song of Hope by Robbie Seay Band
* Be One by Natalie Grant
* Remind Me Who I Am by Jason Gray
* Let God Arise by Chris Tomlin
If you need the music for these songs or are already comfortable with another song, just let the band know by February 14th so it can be ready. Email your idea to Jeff, email@example.com.
See you there!
Opportunities to Help
You are Needed:
Counters and Financial Secretary
If you are looking for a way to help out at church with minimal time commitment, we are looking for people interested in joining the counting team. Counters are partnered with one other person to count the offerings once a month. This typically takes no more than one hour on a Sunday following the second service.
Counting must be done at the church and training will be given to all volunteers.
We are also looking to fill the role of Financial Secretary. The Financial Secretary is responsible for recording the weekly offerings into the church software so that giving statements can be generated regularly.
In addition, the Financial Secretary usually coordinates the counters and makes sure that counting supplies are in order. The recording of the weekly gifts can be done either at the church or from home if you are able to connect to the internet. If interested in either of these opportunities, please contact either Phil Lippert (847-651-4368) or Roz Beitzel (847-529-8054).
PADS Ministry Needs.
We have completed 3 months of our PADS season, providing shelter and meals to approximately 769 guests to date. We have 4 months to go in serving the homeless and our funds are very low. This ministry is in need of monetary donations in order to continue providing 3 meals a week to these guests. Please consider making a donation to help this ministry continue to serve the homeless in Lake County. If you have any questions on this, please contact Karen Senase at firstname.lastname@example.org.
